JoAnn Ankeney Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of JoAnn Ankeney of Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of JoAnn Ankeney to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Ernest Nixon and Pauline Greenwood Fox (Crabtree); her husband Clyde Woodrow Ankeney Jr.; her stepfather Emmett B. Fox; her son Clyde Woodrow Ankeney III; her granddaughter Natasha N. Ankeney; and her brother Ronald C. Nixon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pam Robinson (Greg) of Oldtown, MD, Debbie Mills (Tony) of Clear Spring and Kim Hose (Charlie "Buck") of Clear Spring; her grandchildren, Ashley N. Roberts, Jeremy L. Robinson, Cory W. Mills, Jesse L. Robinson and Karlie R. Mundey; her great grandchildren, Blake, Harper, Easton, Everhett, Emmett, Elin, Cameron, Grayson, Gentry, Chayce and Avery; and her sisters, Shirley P. Kimble of Oldtown, MD and Glenda M. Keyser of Oldtown, MD. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery (14205 Pleasant Valley Rd NE, Flintstone, MD 21530).
