He was predeceased by : his parents, John Byrd Nichols III and Margaret Naomi Nichols (Gaskin). He is survived by : his wife Teresa Maria Nichols (Davis); his children, Kathleen Louise Davis Nichols (Robert James), John Andrew Nichols (Megan), Bryan Austin Nichols (Lori), Rose Marie Wolters (Mitch) and Emily Rachel Joy Nichols; his sister Sharon Nicole Marcel (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Cameron, Jayden, Jazzmine, Madeleine, Caleb, Hannah, Liam, Jonas, Eliza, Anneliese, Hugo, Gerrit, Adelaide, Malani, Naomi and Elijah.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Tri-State Fellowship Evangelical Church (13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740).
