She is survived by: her children, Michelle Watts (Jason) of Hagerstown, MD and Michael Mongelli (Hannia) of Frederick, MD; her siblings, Agatha Langan (Edward) of Cary, NC, Cindy Hock (Joseph) of Frederick, MD, Lena Giugliano (Edward) of Mooresville, NC and Joseph Nicolato; her grandchildren, Avery, Owen Watts, Jase and Jesse Mongelli; and her siblings' children, Marcia Langan of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Langan (Michelle) of Cary, NC, Ava Lengemann (Derick) of Davidson, NC, Philip Giugliano (Sarah) of Bakersfield, CA and Josie Nicolato of Virginia Beach, VA..

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Nemours Children's Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware, where Kathryn's granddaughter, Avery, receives ongoing treatment for her illness as a result of Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) - a rare genetic disease.
