He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon R. Bowers and Doris Jean Bowers (Nelson); his nephew Samuel Franklin Bowers, Jr.; and his brother John R. Bowers Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Janice Lee Bowers (Sharltz); his daughter Hayleigh Bowers; his siblings, Samuel F. Bowers, Sr. (Robin), Thomas R. Bowers (Cindy), Joseph Bowers (Kelly) and Viola Mcdonald (Charles); and his sister-in-law Thelma Reeder (Kenny).
