She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Tanner and Evelyn Tanner (Cornwell) of Virginia; her husband Richard Lee Barnes, Sr.; her sister Jackie Mullins; her nephew Ken Kidwell; and her brothers-in-law, Bill Barnes and Jake Barnes.
She is survived by: her children, Richard L. Barnes, Jr. (Teresa), Russel A. Barnes and Robin Ann Shoemaker (Robert, Sr.); her grandchildren, Robert Shoemaker, Jr. (Rebecca), Jennifer Shoemaker, Christopher Barnes (Marilisse), Kerry Norton and Kandi Donivan (Russel); her great grandchildren, Dimitri Hare-Barnes, Ashlyn Norton, Caleb Barnes, Evan Norton, Jailyn Hill-Barnes, Ronin Donivan, Emilia Barnes, Barrett Shoemaker and Calvin Shoemaker; her great great grandchild Wesley Thorpe; and her brother Ray Tanner (Mikayla).
