He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Toms and Thelma Toms; his wife Wanda; his daughter Ginger Beattie; his son-in-law Mike; his siblings, Bernard, Donald, Dennis "Mike", Ruby, Doris, Lois and Tempe; and his great grandchild Nathanial.
He is survived by: his son Greg Toms (Darlene); his grandchildren, Kim Weaver (Brad), Jeff Beattie (Laurie) and Bill Beattie (Brenda); his great grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan), Alyssa (Larry), Caitlin, Maleigha, Bralyn, Brendan, McKenna and Payton; and his great great grandchildren, Hudson, Oliver and Carra.
