She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Knapp and Earnie Geraldine Knapp (Barnes); her husbands, William Harrison Purnell and Kenneth Thompson; and her grandson Richard "Rick" (Charles Smoot).
She is survived by: her siblings, Violet, Geraldine, Ruella, Dorothy, Gladys, Florence, Grady, Richard, Charles, Michael, Louis "Steven", Patrick and Glenn; her children, Roger, Earnie Knapp, Willa Henderson, Wanda Deville, Charlene Purnell and Juanita Purnell; her grandchildren, Dewayne, Miranda, Sherry, Melissa, Travis, Crystal and Samantha; and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Devon and Kylie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
