He was predeceased by: his parents, Reno Harp Simons and Eleanor Gertrude Beachley; his son Richard L. Simons, Jr.; his brothers, Charles Hahn, James Beachley and Sherwood Simons; and his wife Mary Helman Wagner Simons.
He is survived by: his children, David M. Simons of Greencastle, PA, Steven S. Simons of Reading, PA, Larry N. Simons of Fairfield, PA, Cynthia L. Sell of Hagerstown, MD and Wade R. Simons of Fairfield, PA.; his sister Patricia Shank; and his grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Maggie, Rebecca, Erin, Kaitlin, Jonathan and Adam. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
