We announce the death of Robert Joseph Fennel of Hagerstown, Maryland, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 81. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine M. Fennel (Ernest J. Fennel) and Bob. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Fennel (Querry); his children, Lisa A. Fennel (Bill Moser) and Eric J. Fennel; his daughter-in-law Kristen Fennel; his siblings, Diane M. Pisker and William J. Fennel; and his grandchildren, David W. Fennel, Andrew M. Fennel and Caroline G. Fennel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Ann's Church Facilities Reserve Fund or to support Dr. Doug Smith's leukemia research at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Donations can be made payable to Johns Hopkins University with a memo indicating that this gift is "in memory of Robert Fennel, to Dr. Smith's research" and mailed to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 750 East Pratt Street, Suite 1700, Baltimore, MD 21202.
