He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Mae Martz and Elvin "Abe" Morningstar; and his brother Ronald Edward Morningstar. He is survived by: his stepfather Melvin Showers; his wife Ruth Martz; his children, Susan Collier (Donald) of Hagerstown, MD, Tana Wenzell (Stuart) of Alachua, FL, David Martz (Debbie) of Hedgesville, WV, Peggy Martz (Karen Hart) of Ellicott City, MD, Daniel Martz (David Keifrider) of Easton, MD and Kristina Riska (Mike) of Rising Sun, MD.; and his siblings, Jeffrey Showers of Winter Haven, FL, Richard Vance Morningstar of Richmond, VA, Terry Lee Morningstar of Westminster, MD, Paula Snedeker of Julian, PA and Judith Ellen Munroe of Severna Park, MD.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Washington County, MD, or to the Hospice of Washington County.
