He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Eugene Shaffer and Emma Ruth Shaffer (Smith); his siblings, Arneda C. Eckenrode, Jean L. Harris, Garland E. Shaffer, Derwood L. Shaffer and Alden W. Shaffer; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Shaffer and Gene Miller.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary K. Eckenrode (Bernie) of Finksburg, MD and Evelyn M. Miller of Westminster, MD; his close friends, Rose King and Kenny Mangum; and also Wanda King of Hagerstown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
