He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer T. Welty and Alberta Romaine Welty; and his wife Mary Jane Welty. He is survived by: his son Benjamin Welty of Hampstead; his granddaughter Jaime L. Thomas (Jason Thomas) of Hampstead; his great grandchildren, Tyler J. Welty (Adrianna Sniezek), Kayla N. Thomas (Jason "Tyler" Wiggins) and Kasey N. Thomas (Titus Meushaw); his great great grandchildren, Maverick H. Wiggins and Millie Wiggins; his nephew Michael "Fish" Stine; and his pets, Buddy and Janie.
