It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Brian Merkel of Hampstead, Maryland, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen J. Merkel and Virginia M. Merkel; and his son Stephen John Merkel. He is survived by: his spouse Virginia'Ginna'Merkel; his children, Scott Brian Merkel (Chelsea) of Glen Burnie, MD and Lindsey Rae Merkel of Windsor, CO; his grandson Maverick Brian Merkel; and his siblings, Wayne Merkel (Beverly) of Westminster, MD and Joyce Thompson (Walter) of Westminster, MD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
