She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Schaeffer and Neva Schaeffer; her husband Richard K. Groomes, Sr.; her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Davidson and Neva M. Paul; her sister Eileen Schaeffer Myers Wallace; her aunt Matilda; and her uncle Lewis "Peck" Hughes.

She is survived by: her children, Richard K. Groomes, Jr. (Janis), Barry B. Groomes (Nancy), Ivy L. Storey (Joe), Holly L. Deal (Timothy), Bradley Groomes and Kristy. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
