He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Fred Thompson and Lillian Elizabeth Thompson; his wife Catherine Jacqueline "Jackie" Thompson; his sisters, Martha (Leonard Ewell), Annabelle (Nathan Bales), Elsie (Stanley Stanton), Brenda (Donald Sharrer), Betty and Francis Welsh; and his brother-in-law Jack Fields.
He is survived by: his children, William Lee Thompson, Jr. (Bonnie) of Taneytown, MD and Laura Lee Moser (late Scott) of Finksburg, MD; his grandchildren, Lauren Thompson, Justin Moser and Ashley Moser; his great grandchildren, Joey, Johnathan and Sophia; and his sibling Fay Fields. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
