He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen M. Kite (Naumann) and Claude E. Kite; his children, Robert Kite, Thomas Kite, Stephen Kite and Eileen Renteria (Kite); his stepson Rob Jones; his granddaughter Lauren Renteria; his great grandchild Justin Kite; and his siblings, Jack Kite, Claude "Butch" Kite, Wayne Kite and Betty Hatton (Kite).
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Joyce Kite; his children, James Kite of Laurel, MD, Charles Kite of Delaware and Mary Claire Herbert (Kite) of Modesto, CA; his stepson Edward Jones of Salisbury, MD; and his sister Joyce Brumback (Kite). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
