He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward Canter and Nellie Erma Canter; and his brothers, Oscar Canter, LeRoy Canter, Halvor Canter, Donald Canter, Thomas Canter, Otis Canter and Edwin Canter.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Christopher Canter (Joanna), Robin Marchant (Christopher Druin) and Vicki Canter; his grandchildren, Cody, Linda, Amanda, George, Jessica and John; his great grandchildren, Paxton and Palmer; his sister Erma White; and his great-niece Sharon Kalinowski (John White).
