He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wade and Betsy Carpenter (Frankhauser). He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Carpenter (Layton); his sons, John M. Carpenter, Jr. (Ashley), Aaron Carpenter (Lynn) and Stephen Carpenter; his stepchildren, Robert Gilbert, Christina McGann (Jay) and Sarah Sullivan (Mark); his siblings, Pat Carpenter and Paul "Samuel" Carpenter; and his grandchildren, Mikayla, Petey, Preston, Kevin, John Michael, Hannah, Benjamin of Lizzie, A. J., Abigail and Penelope. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
