With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James W. Higgins Sr. of Hurlock, Maryland, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on October 17, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lee Higgins and Ida Lillian Moore Higgins; and his wife Marilyn Malott. He is survived by: his children, Lyndean L. "Lenni" Higgins of Hurlock, Dan L. Higgins, Sr. (Dawn) of Hurlock, J. Ward Higgins II (Cindy) of Hurlock and Terry J. Higgins, Sr. (Barbara) of Hurlock; and his grandchildren, Shane Hinson (Erin), Susan Hardison, Alexa Dixon, Danny Higgins II (Diana), David Higgins (Nicole), TJ Higgins, Jared Higgins (Mary) and Collin Higgins (Melissa). He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (700 Locust St, Cambridge, MD 21613).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
