It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Clarence Reginald Wells (Hyattsville, Maryland), born in Escatawpa, Mississippi, who passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Quitman Wells and Nellie Wells; his siblings, Federick Lamar Wells and Francis Wells; and his brothers-in-law, Donold Turnbull and Governor Charles W. Turnbull.
He is survived by: his wife Doris; his children, Jamal and Cherisse Wells; his siblings, Herman Wells (late Edna), Floyd Wells, Gloria McArthur (Holis), Bernadean Williams (Richard) and Linda Hinton (Bert); his brothers-in-law, Vernarld Turnbull (late Juliette) and Cecil Forbes; and his aunt Annie Louise Mass. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the National Wesleyan Church (6324 Riggs Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20783). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the George Washington Cemetery (9500 Riggs Rd, Adelphi, MD 20783).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
