She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alma Hayes Shelton and Henry Shelton; her grandparents, Edward B. Hayes and Kizzie Hayes; her siblings, Walter Crutchfield, Jr. and Geales Yvonne Crutchfield Grant "Yvonne"; her children, Lloyd L. Howerton, Jr., Timi Howerton-Ford of Upper Marlboro, MD and Voncea Howerton-Copeland; her grandchildren, Vonice Howerton (Pebbles), Eboni Copeland, Clinton Copeland (CJ) and Kobe Copeland; her great grandchild Lily Copeland; her sister Gloria "Cookie" Townsend of South Hill, VA; and her children, Jimmy Sydnor, Veneta Sydnor and Angela Sydnor.
Mrs. Hayes Howerton requested that in lieu of flowers, monetary contributions be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (donation website: https://www.stjude.org).
