He is survived by: his children, Richard Lee Whelton III (Trey), Mary Cole (Chris Cole) and Patrick Thomas Taylor Whelton; his grandchildren, Daxton and Delaney Cole; his former spouse Terry Whelton; his aunt Mary Taylor; and also, Elizabeth Mouledoux (Warren), Suzanne Whelton (Christian Hochuli) and Paul Whelton (Barbara). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gasch's Funeral Home (4739 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20781). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location.
