She was predeceased by: her mothers, Ethel Ellis and Annie Bell Tucker Ellis; her husband William Andrew Calhoun; her sons, Phelton Calhoun, Sr. and LaVell Calhoun; her siblings, Susie Jackson, J. C. Ellis and James Ellis; and her siblings-in-law, James Calhoun, John C. Calhoun, David Calhoun, Robert Jackson, Abel Washington, Leanna West, Sarah Calhoun, Valerie Ellis and Panella Calhoun.
She is survived by: her children, LeVell Calhoun, Sr. (Pamela) of Maryland, Stancia Calhoun of Maryland, Ondrea Calhoun Eborn of Jacksonville and Chenobia Calhoun of Maryland; her brother Fred D. Ellis (Resna) of New Jersey; and her grandchildren, Christy, Zabrina, Phelena, LeVell, Jr., Hurley III, LeVar (Stacy), Phelton, Jr., LeMont, LeVaughnte and Ruby Delores. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Jb Jenkins Funeral Home (7474 Landover Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20785). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
