He is survived by: his wife Delores Wines Vaughn; his children, Sherri Vaughn Pundt (Edward Pundt Jr.), Angela Vaughn (Carlos Jibaja) and Anthony Vaughn (Melissa Vaughn); his grandchildren, Ashlyn McInerney of Anthony, Vaughn Jr., Linda Melendez, Isabelle Vaughn and Zachary Vaughn; and his siblings, Donald Vaughn, Lois Clayton, Jerald, Judy, Carol, Sharon and Steve.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Cancer Society.
