It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia A. Kirksey (Hyattsville, Maryland), who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Fair and Emma Doris Fair; her husband Dr. Carl Kirksey; her sister Rose Mary Crosby; and her brother-in-law Leander Kirksey, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, John Kirksey, Carla Kirksey and Christina Kirksey; her sisters, Gwendolyn Jones and Ora Wills; her siblings-in-law, Dr. Emmett Kirksey and Jeanne Kirksey; and her caregivers, Hazel McGill, LaRissa Thomas, Valerie Brown, Traci Kornegay, Angela Barham (Bunnee), Brenda Lambkin, Yolanda Waaldijk, Kia Benson and Rita Houston. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
