She is survived by: her children, Charles Etzel, III, William Etzel (Kathy), Joanne O'Neil, Frederick Etzel (Michelle) and Theresa Schultz (Tony, IV); her grandchildren, Rebecca Etzel, Jimmy Moore, Tony Schultz, Jacklyn Etzel, Lacey Etzel, Kelly Schultz, Charles Etzel and Nathan Bailey; her great grandchildren, Adrianna and Alisha Moore; and her brother Alphonse Celmer.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schimunek Funeral Home (9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082. A committal service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

“Fran was my sister in law for over 30 years. She had a calm and gentle spirit, and was very kind to my children, Tim, Susan, and Deborah. She was a role model of a woman dedicated to her family and her husband Charlie. When her own mother reached her elderly age, she was so faithful and dedicated, visiting her weekly, doing her laundry, grocery shopping, providing her with companionship and anything else she needed. I have so many fond memories, and am grateful for her presence in my life.”
