John leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. John’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew John will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne Murphy; his parents, Francis Murphy and Irene Murphy; and his sister Rosemary Martha Taylor. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathryn and Julie Murphy; and his brothers, Frank Murphy of Michigan and Bill Murphy of New Jersey. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the E. F. Lassahn Funeral Home (11750 Belair Rd, Kingsville, MD 21087). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church (13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) (http://www.stjude.org.), helping to provide hope, care, and support to children and families facing serious illness.
