She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hawkins and Marion Hawkins; and her siblings, Marion "Patsy" Fitzhugh, Rosalind McCormick and William Hawkins.

She is survived by: her former husband Walter Coleman; her children, Tonya Coleman-Fannin (Sam), Michelle Coleman, Tracey Coleman and Walter Coleman, Jr.; her goddaughter Faye Prioleau (Joe); her stepdaughter Renee King; her grandchildren, Tyrone Coleman, Jade Coleman-Patton (Alex), Tyiesha Coleman, Brandon Lee, Tyrell Coleman and Taylor Coleman; her great grandchildren, Tyrone Coleman, Jr., Ayarri Walker, Brielle Coleman, Asa Patton and Tegan Coleman; and her great-niece Jamia Chesley. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
