He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Allison Bowie and Mae Marie Bowie; his son Darren A. Bowie; and his parents-in-law, Grover Lawrence Robey and Celestia Lusby Robey.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Robey Bowie; his daughter Lauren Celeste Bowie of Indian Head, Maryland.; and his sisters, Gail Klares (Doug) of Lusby and Linda Simons (Rusty) of La Plata. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
