With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Ignatius Gerber of Kensington, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 30, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Gerber and Andrew Gerber of Washington, DC. He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his children, Matthew Gerber (Kathryn), Anne Bowen (Robert) and Katherine "Kate" Gerber (Brian Goodykoontz); his grandchildren, Patrick Gerber, Emily Gerber, Benjamin Bowen, Timothy Bowen, MaryElizabeth Bowen, Maeve Goodykoontz and Mary-Grace Goodykoontz; and his siblings, Joanne Tepper, Andrew Gerber, Jr., William Gerber and Catherine Manfreda. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Archbishop Carroll High School Class of '62 Scholarship Fund, ensuring that his legacy of education and opportunity endures.
