With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herbert Whitacre of Kitzmiller, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 24, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Whitacre and Millie Whitacre (Rowe); his wife Patricia Whitacre (Riggleman); and his siblings, Clarence Whitacre, Thurman Whitacre, Ethel Wotring, Dorothy Sines and June Whitacre.

He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Wills (Jim) and Amy Frye (Scott Paugh); his close friends, Tom Ashby and Danny James; and his pets, Nemo and Tiger.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Newman Funeral Homes (1100 Memorial Dr, Oakland, MD 21550).
