It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Patricia (Allen) Ferguson of La Plata, Maryland, who passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Joyce leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith May (Swinburn) and Elvis Moirtimer Allen; her brother Rodney Wayne Allen; and her husbands, Welby Turner Gray and Jack Alvin Ferguson.
She is survived by: her brother Christopher Allen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Raymond Funeral Service (5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (4535 Piney Church Rd, Waldorf, MD 20602).
