We announce the death of Rachel Levea Johnson (La Plata, Maryland), born in Evans, Louisiana, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Rachel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Eli and Pairlee Welch; her husband Almon Johnson; her siblings, Willie Mae, Hansford, Ruth, Leon and Anna; and her grandson John.
She is survived by: her children, Almon Dale Johnson, James Andrew Johnson, John Lee Johnson, Julie Jinks (Ronnie) and Rene Watkins (Rick); her grandchildren, Rachel Brouhard (Cliff), Rusty Jinks (Joanna), Richard Watkins and Beth Watkins (Jeffrey Thomas); and her great grandchildren, Trey Brouhard, Ryan Brouhard, Audrey Jinks, Matthew Jinks and Aria Thomas.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (3348 University Pkwy, Leesville, LA 71446).
