She was predeceased by: her parents, Ophelia Edelen and Theodore Edelen; her husband Joseph Harold Butler, Sr.; her sons, Joseph Harold Butler, Jr. and John Butler; her siblings, Magdalen Butler, Martha Dorsey, Gloria Holt, Evelyn Edelen, Calvin Aloysius "Chuckie" and Joseph "Sonny" Edelen; and her goddaughter Carolyn Farmer.

She is survived by: her sons, Darold Sr. (Crystal), Lawrence and Sidney Sr. Butler (Takema); her grandchildren, Joan Edelen, Joseph III (Sarah), Glenn, Joshua, Darold Jr. (Ebony), Darius, Kierra, Jonathan, Kanye, Sidney Jr. and Jaden; her great grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Lillionna and Darold Butler III; her siblings-in-law, Debbie Price, Dale, Dewitt and Alan Butler (Rabbit); her godchildren, Jackie Dorsey, Annie Sweetney, Melvin Butler and Audrey Cole; and her niece Ophelia Johsson. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
