He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Nelson and Beatrice Nelson (Ellis) of St. Cloud; and his brother William Ellis Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Nelson (Cunningham); his children, Andrea Bachinski and Joshua Locke; his daughters-in-law, Megan Bachinski and Daniela Pereira of Carvalho; and his siblings-in-law, Diane Cantele (Timothy), Patrick Cunningham and Michael Cunningham (Heather). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
