He was predeceased by : his father Thomas Joseph Mitchell. He is survived by : his mother Mary Frances Mitchell; his siblings, Meghan Marie Mitchell (James Gerken), Lily Jane Lovejoy, Mary Frances Harvey (Trevor Harvey), Daniel Patrick Mitchell and David Stephen Mitchell; and his niece Elena Marie Harvey. He is also survived by his family and close companions.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Jerome Catholic Church (5205 43rd Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20781). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
