He is survived by: his parent Sheila Dash; his sister Michele Dash-Pauls; his nephews, Marcus Pauls and Eric Pauls; and his brother-in-law Barry Pauls. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

After his military service, Laurence joined the federal government as a civil servant, retiring from the National Science Foundation as a lead cost analyst in 2021.
