She was predeceased by: her husband Michael Anthony Pierson; her parents, Sophie "Sally" Hillis and Frank Albrecht Hillis; and her brother William "Bill" Hillis. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Pierson (Dianna) and Paul Pierson; her grandchildren, Finn Pierson, Wesley Pierson (Aurelie), Grant Pierson and Joshua Pierson; and her great grandchild Robin Alexander-Pierson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
