We announce the death of Steven Stanley Byer of Lavale, Maryland, who passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 82. Steven will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Steven’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank J. Byer and Emily Byer (Bane) of LaVale; his sister Linda C. Croft; and his grandparents, Stanley, Virginia Bane, John and Cora Byer.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Charles L. Croft, Jr. (Sherry).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Upchurch Funeral Homes - Cumberland (202 Greene St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
