James Lathroum Sr. Obituary
The passing of James Lathroum Sr. (Leonardtown, Maryland) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 17, 2025 at the age of 88. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Violet Johnson and Leo Aloysius Lathroum; his siblings, Estelle Farrell, Lillian Blackistone, Agnes Card, Theresa Knight, Catherine Burke, Helen Eckerd, Margaret Hall, Wallace Lathroum and Leo "Beanie" Lathroum; and his grandson Ray Harding (Darryl Hills).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Vera" Veronica Trossbach; his sister Mary Kelly; and his children, James "Junior" Lathroum (Cindy), Nancy Lathroum (George) and Valerie Matthews (Ronnie). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home (41590 Fenwick St, Leonardtown, MD 20650). A prayer was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home (41590 Fenwick St, Leonardtown, MD 20650). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Angels Catholic Church (21340 Colton Point Rd, Avenue, MD 20609).
In lieu of flowers we would like contributions to be made to St. Mary's County Watermen's Association.
