He was predeceased by : his parents, Leona Mae Potter Lavender and Charles William Lavender; and his siblings, Gladys Lavender Guy, Dorothy Lavender and Charles William Lavender, Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Alice Dudley Lavender; his children, Bruce Lavender (Susan) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Keith Lavender (Jo) of St. George Island and Jane Knott (Guy) of Leonardtown, MD.; his grandchildren, Matthew Lavender-Knott (MacKenzie Mead) and Colie Bateman (Connor Lavender-Knott); and also Evelyn Brooke Wimberly.
