Barbara leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Barbara’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Barbara will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Levi Kachel and Elsie Viola Kachel. She is survived by: her sons, Robert Horton (Tammy Stewart) of Great Mills and Michael Horton of Lexington Park, MD; her siblings, John Kachel of Leonardtown, MD and Brenda Kachel of Atoka, TN; her niece Tammy Vinson; and her nephews, Tommy Alvey, Gary Flatness and Chris Flatness.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home (41590 Fenwick St, Leonardtown, MD 20650). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
