She is survived by: her close friend Author Bill Thomas; her daughters, Audrey Chase (Marcus), Sheila Gross (Oliver), Thyris Brown "Melissa" (Tracy), Faith Brown "Boo" and Casey Brown (Scotty); her siblings, Mary Helen Woodland and John Hawkins Sr.; her godchild Mikkita Miles; and her close friend Judith Toney. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
