He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vincent Briscoe and Irene Chandler Briscoe; his siblings, Joseph Vincent Briscoe, Jr., Charles Herman Briscoe, Johnny Briscoe, Audrey Briscoe, Evelyn Snowden, Juanita Rustin and Shirley Briscoe; and his nieces and nephews, Ronald Seldon, William Seldon, Bernadette Rustin and Robin Rustin.
He is survived by: his son Michael George Briscoe II (II); his nephew Carl; his wife Dinnette Berry; his stepgranddaughters, Latasha McCoy and Mariha Brock; his siblings, Thomas I. Briscoe, Doris Seldon (George) and Yvonne Briscoe Hall (Jackie); and his goddaughters, Tobie Pulliam and Arielle Turley. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
