He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Lester and Grace Daugherty; his wife Beulah Virginia Daugherty; his son Paul Abbott; his sister Anna Leese; his son-in-law Stanley Eure; and his brothers-in-law, Milton Herman, Hershel Wagner and James Wagner.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Lee Eure of Easton, MD, David Abbott (Diana) of Manchester, MD and Larry Daugherty, Jr. (Veronica) of Cocoa, FL; his sister Nancy Herman of Manchester, MD.; and his nephews, Larry Herman, Terry Herman and Garry Herman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel (3296 Charmil Dr, Manchester, MD 21102). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
