He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Carter and Florence Carter; his son Leonard W. Carter, Jr.; and his brothers, Grant Carter and Tony Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Maryetta Copper; his daughters, Traci Austin [Rudell] of Dorchester, Mass and LaToya Gayle [Omar] of Long Island, NY; his brothers, Stephen Carter of Roxbury, Mass and George Carter of California; his mother-in-law Pauline Copper; and his grandchildren, Shavon, Patrick, Ian, Tatiana, Aaron, Trevor, Brianna, Matthew and Christian. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and friends.
