She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Dempsey and Frances Dempsey; her husband Elmer "Elmo" Lewis, Jr.; and her siblings, Thomas Dempsey, Louis Dempsey, Sr., Allen Dempsey, Frances Ferrell and Dinah Dempsey.

She is survived by: her children, Vicki Debeltz (David) of Mechanicsville, MD., William "Billy" Lewis of Chesapeake Beach, MD, James "Jimmy" Lewis of Bryans Road, MD, Shari Void of Arlington, VA and Robert "Bobby" Lewis; her siblings, Robert Dempsey, Jr., Arthur Dempsey, Debora Swarthout and Elsie Brock; her grandchildren, James Lewis, Jr., Jessica Lewis, Desiree Granada, Jordan Adams, Jasmine Adams and Robert Adams; and her godson Derrick Dempsey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
