He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan May Young and Cleveland Richard Young; his siblings, Jimmie Young, Johnny Young and Loretta Blakely; his brother-in-law RJ Blair; his nephew John-Paul Young; Hunter Lambert and Aspen Shaw.
He is survived by: his wife Edria Sharon "Topsy" O'Dell Young; his daughters, Susan Rawlings (Bobby) and Jeanne Young (Christiane Mills); his grandchildren, Priscilla Hutchinson (Bobby), Bailey Rawlings and Jolie Rawlings (Corey); his great grandchildren, Lynnex Hutchinson, Karlee Douglas, Dane Hutchinson, Kameron Douglas and Saylor Hall; his siblings, Sallie Young Blair of Martinsburg, WV, Paul Young of Myrtle Beach, SC, Elizabeth Flanagan (Dave) of Dublin, VA and Roger Young (Sandy) of Sophia, WV; his brother-in-law Lew Blakely of Easton, MD; and his nieces and nephews, Trisha Fowler (Frank), Cindy Carrier (Bobby), Rob Blair (Mary Beth), Michelle Hayes (Chris), Donna Perotte, Rick Blair (Kristen), Shawn Blakely (Tara), Stephanie Lambert (Jeff), Evelyn Cochran (Charlie), Richard Young, David Flanagan, Melinda Gallimore (Travis) and Laura Glotfelty (Nick). He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory (30195 Three Notch Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to MedStar St. Mary's Hospice, in gratitude for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided to Lenny and his family during this time, as well as on many occasions before.
