He is survived by : his children, Carline Oliver, Carlease Oliver and James Oliver Jr.; his grandchildren, Shawnte and Michael; his daughter-in-law Bernadette Oliver; his friend Arthur Powell; his nieces and nephews, Gerald Oliver, Bruce Oliver, Ernestine Simms and Vanessa Simms; and his cousin McKinley Bowie (John Wesley). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
