He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Brightwell and Lily E. Carlstrom Brightwell; his brothers, William C., Jr. and Robert Brightwell; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Brightwell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Brightwell; his nieces, Lisa Brightwell of Catonsville and Shannon Halikman (Ian) of Waldorf; and his nephew Rodney Mullinix (Karen) of Woodbine.
